Socratic Seminars in the Block

Front Cover
Eye On Education, 2000 - 161 pages
Socratic Seminars are more than typical classroom discussions. They are fine-tuned, teacher-orchestrated procedures which build student motivation and interest. Setting up and maintaining the appropriate environment for a seminar requires time, a commodity often not available in traditional schedules. The extended time block typically found in 4/4 semester schedules, trimester schedules and A/B alternating-day schedules provides the time for teachers to implement the Socratic Seminar effectively.
