The Committee on Banking, Finance and Urban Affairs, to

whom was referred the bill (H.R. 6) to reform the deposit insurance

system to enforce the congressionally established limits on the

amounts of deposit insurance, and for other purposes, having con-

sidered the same, report favorably thereon with amendments and

recommend that the bill as amended do pass.

The amendments are as follows:

Strike out all after the enacting clause and insert in lieu thereof

the following:

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE; TABLE OF CONTENTS.

(a) SHORT TITLE.-This Act may be cited as the "Financial Institutions Safety and

Consumer Choice Act of 1991".
