DEAR MR. SPEAKER: By direction of the Committee on Science and Astronautics, I submit the enclosed report, "Status of Missile and Space Programs."

This report has been prepared following investigative hearings by the full committee into many aspects of missile and space problems, in some 22 sessions, hearing witnesses from both the civilian and military departments concerned. The report was adopted and approved for submission to the House by the committee.

The conclusions noted herein giving recognition to a number of important problems connected with the organization and operation of our missile and space programs are offered to the 86th Congress for consideration.
