OFFICE OF THE STATE BOARD OF HEALTH

STATE HOUSE, Concord, N. H., July 1, 1924. To His Excellency the Governor and the Honorable Council:

I have the honor to submit herewith, in accordance with the laws of the State of New Hampshire, the twenty-eighth report of the State Board of Health for the two fiscal years ending June 30, 1924.

REPORT

Herewith is presented the biennial report of the State Board of Health for the fiscal years, 1923 and 1924. The scope of the work is constantly increasing and it is the aim of the Board to give the citizens of the state the benefit of new discoveries in preventive medicine as far as it is able. It is not the purpose of the Board to become involved in any health work that interferes with the offices and functions of well established agencies, public or private. Each month a Bulletin goes forth with timely information on subjects related to public health work. This Bulletin will be mailed to anyone asking for it. The Board has endeavored in various ways to inform the people of the state of the work of the various departments under the supervision of the State Board of Health in order that the people may avail themselves of the opportunities offered them.

The State Board of Health is cognizant that under the law local health authorities have important and well defined responsibilities regarding public health. It is the purpose of the State Board to remind them of their duties and to give such help and advice as may be necessary. From time-to-time the Board arranges for a meeting of the health officers of the state where questions of great importance to them in their work may be
