AN IMPORTANT COMMUNICATION

TO PHYSICIANS,

Thirteen years have now elapsed since the introduction of SCOTT'S EMULSION of Pure Norwegian COD LIVER OIL with HYPOPHOSPHITES of LIME and SODA, since which time its growth and development have been very large, not only in this country but in South America, Great Britain and a large part of Continental Europe, and it has, in a very large degree, supplanted the Plain Cod Liver Oil. Its success is largely due to the happy combination of all its components, making a perfect chemical union, that will not separate for years, which we believe is not true of any other Cod Liver Oil preparation.

The innumerable reports from Physicians, of the brilliant results obtained justifies the statement that in almost every case where Cod Liver Oil is indicated, Scott's Emulsion is infinitely superior.

Physicians who have never tried this Emulsion, or who have been induced to try something else in its stead, will do us the favor to send for sample, and we know they will always use it preference to plain Cod Liver Oil or any other preparation,

We ask a Careful Comparative Test with any or all Similar Preparations. FORMULA: 50 per cent. of Pure Cod Liver Oil, 6 grs. of the Hypophosphites of Lime of Lime, and 3 grs. of the Hypophosphites of Soda to a fluid ounce. Emulsified with mucilage and Glycerine.

MESSRS. SCOTT & BOWNE I have much pleasure in stating that for the last three years I have used your Emulsion of Cod Liver Oil and Hypophosphites in my practice, in cases of Phthisis, Nervous Prostration and Anæmia, and always derived marked benefit from its use. That it does not decompose, is very palatable, and remains in the most fastidious stomach, are some of its greatest merits. St. John, N.B: T. J. O. EARLE, M.D. MESSES. SCOTT & BOWNE: I have used for some time, and prescribed Scott's Emulsion of Cod Liver Oil, and find it an excellent fixed prepara tion, agreeing well with the stomach, easily taken, and its continued use adding greatly to the strength and comfort of the patient. Petitcodiac, N.B., Nov. 5, 1880. A. H. PECK, M.D., Penn. Med. Co lege.

I have the honor to be, yours truly,

OFFICE OF

CHARLES CLUTHE

118 KING ST. W., TORONTO, ONT.

To the Medical Profession and Druggists:

GENTLEMEN,-It is now sixteen years since I commenced business as a manufacturer of Trusses and Orthopedical Instruments in Canada. During this time my goods have become well-known, and have given the greatest satisfaction to the Medical Profession. As a proof of this fact there are but few Doctors in Canada who during this time have not had dealings with my house in some way. It has always been my aim to do the very best, and to give satisfaction in every case. I am safe in saying that the

PATENT PERFECTED SPIRAL TRUSS

Is the most extensively used by Physicians in Canada to-day; but in order to bring this Truss more in use I have adopted a new system, by which I desire to supply the public through you, which will, I am sure, not only be a great advantage to sufferers from Rupture, but the liberal discount I offer, will secure for yourself a handsome profit. I always carry a large Stock of

SHOULDER BRACES, SUSPENSORY BANDAGES,

ABDOMINAL SUPPORTERS, CRUTCHES, ETC.

Order sheets sent on application, and every Order entrusted to me will be specially made for your patient on receipt of Order Sheet from you, properly filled out, which will place your patient's case before me in its true light. I will then be in a position, with the large amount of Truss Attachments at my command, to get up a Truss in short order, and every order received by 3 p.m. will be mailed on the same day. Send for Illustrated Book which contains all particulars.

I am, yours very truly,

CHARLES CLUTHE, Surgical Machinist,
